This is particularly stressful time of year for those undergoing exams. There is so much pressure to get top marks on our youngsters these days that it is no wonder that some find themselves experiencing symptoms of panic and anxiety, such as:

  • Difficulty going to sleep
  • Difficulty getting up in the morning
  • Heart palpitations
  • Sweating
  • Chest pains
  • Nausea
  • Trembling
  • Shortness of breath
  • Stomach upsets
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhoea
Homeopathy can offer a safe, gentle solution to the symptoms. Observe how your child is feeling and select the most appropriate remedy from the list below. Repeat for 3-4 doses, stopping when there is an improvement. If symptoms return, re-start your remedy.

  • Gelsemium: Timid. Afraid and performs poorly. Dull, dizzy and drowsy. Fatigue and aching pf whole body. Headache & sore throat. Lack of thirst.
  • Lycopodium: Performance anxiety but they tend to do well when it comes to it. Dictatorial at home and well behaved with ‘superiors’/at school. Abdominal bloating. Fear of failure. Breaking down under stress. Craves sweets, warm food & drinks.
  • Aconite: Sudden, intense ailments from fright. Anxiety (palpitations, numbness and tingling, trembling, red face, sweating, faint, breathing difficulty). Fearful of many things.
  • Silica– Anxiety from indecision and overwhelm. Difficulty in concentrating. Fear to undertake new tasks. Constipation. Overreact and devote attention to tiny details.
  • Argentum Nitricum– anticipatory anxiety from extreme performance pressure causing diarrhoea. Desire for sweets (which cause diarrhoea) and salty food. Impulsive and reckless. Thirsty for frequent small drinks.
  • Kali Phosphoricum – For exhaustion due to overwork. Anxiety & inability to cope, Jumpy & oversensitive. Startled by ordinary sounds. Nervous digestive upsets.
And remember, relax and just do your best!
