No matter how healthy or careful you are in your day to day life, occasionally the time to go ‘under the knife’ comes.  This can be a daunting and worrying time, for those close to you also.  Many things go through your mind in anticipation of any kind of surgery, minor or major.  It can be a stressful and worrying time.

If you have a procedure coming up in your future get in touch to discuss using remedies to support your healing journey. www.solashomeopathy.com/contact.html

Here are some of the main remedies you may need following surgery.

Aconite is your go-to remedy if you are feeling fearful.  It is a remedy which has a keen affinity for anxious, stressed and frightened minds.  Take this before your surgery from whenever these feelings begin to surface, be it the day before or weeks before.  If you have a family member who is anxious about your operation, they can benefit from Aconite’s effects also.

Arnica is probably best known as the bruise remedy, but it is an effective post-operative remedy also.  Arnica will help reduce any swelling and inflammation in the area which will facilitate faster healing[1].

Calendula should be in your post-op kit, without a doubt.  This remedy, made from marigolds, is adept at keeping your incision site clear of infection and aids the skin in repairing.

Hypericum has a real affinity with the nerves and so it will go to work on any nerves that have been cut/damaged in the course of the surgery.  It can also help with pain management.

Staphysagria is a remedy that has a theme of ‘boundaries’ and maintaining strong, healthy personal boundaries.  Surgery can be seen as a breach of your boundaries and so some people can, understandably, feel vulnerable post op.  This is where Staphysagria will help.  It can also help in cases where you are suffering from constipation post-surgery.

Phosphorous has a history of helping those who are struggling with the after-effects of the anesthesia. There may be vomiting and/or disorientation.

If you do suffer from any post-operative complications it is important to check with your doctor.  Your homeopathic remedies will not interact negatively with any medication you have been prescribed.  You can work with both your doctor and your homeopath to return to health.

I read a lot of sites and have never come across a topic like this. I really like the idea of a blogger's bucket list that you came up with. Very clever. You can order online from our store if you have any query contact us 095555 99599.
