As the days get longer, the weather improves and sporting activities begin to open up again, injuries are definitely something to be mindful of. Homeopathy can be on hand to help you recover swiftly & fully and will have you lacing up your running shoes again in no time!

Please note though - Homeopathic medicine should be taken in conjunction with, not in replacement of, conventional first aid measures.

Below are some of the most common remedies used for injuries and can be used by anyone. If you would like to discuss putting together a kit to keep you moving then get in touch.  www.solashomeopathy.com/contact.html

Arnica.
Most of us have heard of Arnica at some point and with good reason. It is easily the most commonly used remedy for all sorts of injuries, including:
  • First remedy to use after any trauma to the head or body.
  • Aversion to touch; person says they are ok when they are not.
  • Bruises
Note: Never apply Arnica cream to broken skin. See Calendula for cuts or lacerations.

Bellis Perennis
Made from the common daisy, this remedy works deeper than Arnica and follows it well to complete the cure.
  • Sprains, deep bruises and fractures.
  • Back injuries, particularly the coccyx.
  • Injuries to deeper tissues (such as after surgery).

Bryonia Alba
Bryonia works well for broken bones, back pain & structural injuries. Common uses are:
  • Joints that are red & swollen.
  • The pain of broken bones (give on the way to hospital, after Arnica).
  • All complaints are worse for motion.

Calendula
This can be used in remedy form or topically in the form of an ointment or tincture.
  • Open cuts, lacerations.
  • Wounds that are red, inflamed or stinging. Can help prevent infection.
  • Minor burns, blisters.

Hypericum
  • For injuries to areas rich in nerves, this acts as a pain reliever.
  • Sharp, shooting pains.
  • For convulsions after an injury, particularly head or spine.

Ledum
  • Black eyes
  • Bruising and swelling that feels cold to the touch
  • Blue/black bruising.
  • Better for cold applications to the injury site.
  • Puncture wounds

Rhus Tox
This is the number 2 go-to remedy for sports injuries, after Arnica.
  • Aching and fatigued muscles.
  • Feeling stiff and bruised.
  • Worse on first motion, improving with continued motion.
  • Worse in cold, damp weather, especially when perspiring.

Ruta Graveolens
Often used in conjunction with Rhus Tox for injuries.
  • Deep, aching pains from bruises to the lining of the bones (after a kick to the shin for example).
  • Torn tendons.
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
  • Tennis elbow.
  • Better for warmth & movement.
  • Worse in cold, damp conditions.

The remedies listed above are just a small selection of the remedies available to treat sports injuries. As you can see, they cover injuries and symptoms from head to toe. With this in mind, it's easy to see why many professional athletes use homeopathy to return them to fitness, gently & rapidly after an injury.
